Relapse art released

So as I and many other hip-hop connoisseurs know, the new Eminem compact disc, Relapse, is being released in May. May 15th to be precise, and they just released the album art for it today. Looking pretty cool.

The rumored first single off this album, Crack a Bottle, featuring Em, Dre, and 50, floated onto the interweb about 3 months ago. This song was later dispelled as being the first single, and just kind of a precursor to the Year of Aftermath that 2009 is going to be. The official single, We Made You, got released about two weeks ago. Like 'Em (pun) or not, the song is extremely catchy. In classic style, the song is an immediate hit (currently number 3 on iTunes Top Songs, and number 1 on their Hip Hop chart) and is making it into the minds and memory of every teenager within the United States. Being the critic that I am, I feel that the song is slightly already played out because it sounds like every other one of his hits. What I'm really looking forward to is the CD, which will be excellent like always.

Also be looking out for 50 Cent's "Before I Self Destruct" coming out this summer, and towards the end of the year, the highly anticipated, Dr. Dre's first release in 10 years (since Chronic 2001 released in 1999), Detox. I've heard a couple singles off of it so far, and they're all sounding pretty excellent. They all pretty much feature T.I. right now, and I'm pretty sure that Dre just wanted to record those early before Tip got put in jail for gun charges.

Til next time.
